All of our puppies, with the exception of those selected for breeding, are $2,500. We require a $625 deposit to hold a puppy/selection spot.
If you are interested in adopting one of our puppies, please fill out a puppy application.
Our goal at DoodleHaus Pups is to raise healthy, calm, well-adjusted puppies that will be a welcome addition to any loving family. Running an ethical breeding program costs money. It begins with health testing the parent dogs as well as the pups, and making sure they stay healthy, happy and loved. Providing veterinary care, feeding high quality food and treats, and grooming are are all an important part of making sure all of our dogs are well cared for. Whelping and hand raising a litter is a 24 hour; 7 day a week job. We love what we do and we put our hearts into it so that we are able to provide your puppy with the best start in life, but like with everything else, that comes at a cost.
Simply, NO.
Yes, however we do not require a deposit to be put on our Waiting List. We do ask, however, that before being added to our list, you fill out a puppy application which helps us know a little about your family and where the puppy will be living. This helps us ensure one of our puppies would be a good fit for you and your family!
Once we confirm pregnancy and can offer you a place on the Reservation List, we contact you to inquire whether your family is still interested in a puppy and provide you with information and expected date of birth. It’s okay if your family is not ready for a puppy at this time. We don’t want our puppies to go to a family that isn’t ready for a new puppy and we understand that sometimes circumstances change. You always have the option of removing your name from our list.
Once the litter is born and we can guarantee you a puppy, we will send you an invitation to join the litter. At this time the deposit is required to hold your selection/spot.
We cannot hold any puppy without an approved application and deposit.
All final payments are due when the puppies are 6 weeks old.
By the time your puppy is ready to come home, we guarantee that all of our pups, have had all age appropriate immunizations and have been de-wormed. Each pup will have had a thorough comprehensive exam by a veterinarian and we will provide a detailed health report.
We include a full Embark DNA report that details the breed breakdown & confirmation, genetic health screening, trait insights, predicted adult weight, and much more.
We start the house breaking process – consider it a head start program! We begin the process of potty and crate training with the goal that your puppy will already sleep through the night when it comes home to you. Please understand that even if training is well underway, some adjustment period is to be expected.
Our puppies are raised as our beloved pets and live inside our house. As such they have been well socialized with children, adults and other dogs
All of our puppies also come with a puppy pack that includes a nylon collar and leash, a small bag of TLC puppy food & measuring scoop, poop bags, some treats, and a few toys.
You will also have a life time of support from us!
Please see Our Dogs for available puppies or information on upcoming litters.
The term “Hypoallergenic” when used to describe Double Doodles, simply means they are less likely to cause an allergic reaction than their Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever ancestors. Double Doodles are considered “allergy friendly” due to their typically non or low shedding coat, meaning people with mild allergies can generally tolerate them. Our family has mild allergies to dogs and have had great success with our pups.
Allergies occur when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance such as pollen, mold, or pet dander. A dog’s dander is composed of tiny skin particles that are shed by the dog. These bits of skin can cause reactions in people who are specifically allergic to these allergy triggers. The proteins which cause allergic reactions to a dog can be found in skin cells, saliva, or urine. Although Double Doodles are considered “allergy friendly”, if you have allergies to dogs, there is no guarantee you will not be allergic to a Double Doodle.
Double Doodles are a designer or hybrid breed. This means they are the result of an intentional breeding of two different hybrid breeds – Goldendoodles (Golden Retriever + Poodle) with Labradoodles (Labrador Retriever + Poodle). While there are many types and sizes of doodles out there, we breed Medium Size Doodles weighing anywhere between 30 – 50 lb.
We aim to place puppies with their new families between 8 and 9 weeks of age as this allows forever families to continue the next critical socialization period 8 – 12 weeks in the puppy’s new home environment.
Unfortunately, the answer is no. We believe that a mother dog’s teaching is an invaluable experience. This is why we do not allow our puppies to leave for their forever home until they are at least 8 weeks of age.
We do take into consideration your preferences but please understand that gender and colour are secondary characteristics to us. The most important thing is that you and your dog are a personality match! For this reason temperament is our primary characteristic of focus. We ask that you be flexible so we can send you home with a dog that will fit your family.
Please understand that we are not a large kennel facility. We are “Home Breeders”. We have a hands-on approach to the breeding process right from the start and choose to raise our puppies in our home as part of our family and the happenings of a busy household. As such we do not allow visits to our home until it is time for the puppies to go home. That this is for the protection of the puppies as well as our family.
We’ve got you! We understand that taking your puppy home can be a bit overwhelming.
